Ippekrites is an Old Greek name. It is composed of two Old Greek words: ‘Hippos’ meaning horse and ‘Krites’ meaning judge. So the most obvious translation in English would be ‘Riding Judge’. But that would put the cart before the horse, wouldn’t it? A more to the point translation is ‘Judging Horseman’. From there it’s a small step to ‘Horseman of the Apocalypse’. And that is exactly what my name is about. In the light for the last days, or maybe in the last light for the days, I will judge the writings and the walls.
